From a young age, I have been fascinated by computers and the way technology shapes our world. This fascination led me to pursue a bachelor's degree in computer science, where I developed a strong passion for machine learning and its endless possibilities. I am a hardworking and dedicated student who is eager to contribute to your esteemed institution.
Our final-year model classified pneumonia from chest X-rays at 94 per cent accuracy until we tested it on images from a second hospital, where it dropped to 71. The scanner metadata, it turned out, was doing more of the work than the lungs. I spent the following month reading about distribution shift, and I have not really stopped since.
Why the second one works

The strong version opens on an event with a date-shaped specificity, not a disposition.

It names a number twice, and the second number is the failure. Admitting the failure is what makes the first number credible.

The technical term arrives after the phenomenon it describes, which shows understanding rather than vocabulary.

The last sentence states the research interest without ever using the words passion or interest.

Nothing in it could be copied into another applicant's statement, which is the point.
