What is TOEFL?

TOEFL iBT is an English proficiency test scored out of 120, most commonly required by US universities. Graduate programmes typically ask for 90 to 100 overall, often with section minimums, and some departments set a higher speaking requirement for applicants who may hold teaching assistantships.
