What is a WES evaluation?
A WES evaluation is a report from World Education Services stating what your Indian qualification is equivalent to in the Canadian or American system, including a converted GPA. For Canadian permanent residence it is one of the accepted forms of Educational Credential Assessment (ECA); for university admission it is sometimes required and often optional.

How do I get a WES evaluation?
- Create a WES account and note the reference number it issues
- Have your university send transcripts directly to WES in a sealed envelope
- Upload copies yourself where WES permits it for your institution
- Allow several weeks after WES receives the documents, and considerably longer to get the documents issued in the first place
Common mistakes
- Sending photocopies you have opened, which WES rejects
- Starting the evaluation before ordering the transcript
- Assuming an ECA for immigration is the same document a university asked for
