Also called Sperrkonto

What is a blocked account?

A blocked account is a German bank account holding a fixed sum that a student can only withdraw in monthly instalments, used to prove to the visa authority that you can support yourself. The required amount is set annually by the German government and is the standard route for Indian students to satisfy the proof-of-funds requirement.
