Lambton College is a publicly funded Ontario college in Sarnia, with a large international intake across business, computing and technology programmes. What the statement has to argue at Lambton College
A college application is assessed twice, and the second assessment is the one that refuses people. The college itself is not usually the hard part; the study permit is, and a visa officer is asking a different question from an admissions officer: whether a two-year postgraduate certificate is a credible next step for someone who already holds a degree.
That is the question a Lambton statement has to answer head on. An applicant with a four-year engineering degree applying to a one-year business certificate needs to explain the progression in terms of what the certificate teaches that the degree did not, and what they intend to do with the combination. 'Better opportunities in Canada' is the answer that gets refused.
The second thing to be explicit about is the campus. If the programme is delivered somewhere other than Sarnia, say which campus and why that location, because a mismatch between the institution named and the address on the file is the kind of inconsistency an officer notices.
