Cost and worth

How much does SOP writing cost in India?

The short answer

Across the Indian market, SOP writing runs from a few hundred rupees for template work to ₹15,000 or more for a full application set at the premium end, with rush delivery charged on top. Ours starts at ₹3,500 a document and ₹8,999 for a full application set. What decides the real cost is scope: one statement for one programme sits at the low end, and a career-change application across several countries does not.

What the price should include

A defensible quote covers the draft, a stated number of revision rounds, and a similarity report. Ours starts at ₹3,500 per document, ₹2,500 for an academic CV, ₹2,000 to edit a draft you already have, with three revision rounds and a similarity report included and the scope agreed in writing before anything is charged.

If revisions are billed separately, ask how many are typical before agreeing, because that is where a low headline price is usually recovered.

Four charges that should make you walk away

A fee for a guaranteed admission. Nobody controls admissions decisions, and a service selling one is selling something it cannot deliver.

A per-university fee for the same document with only the name changed. That is not tailoring, and committees can tell.

A charge for the similarity report as an extra. It costs the provider almost nothing and should ship with the document.

A deposit before the scope and deadline are agreed in writing. Agreeing the total afterwards is how disputes start.

Is it worth paying for at all?

Honestly, not always. If you write well, have time, and your record tells a straightforward story, a good guide and a careful reader will get you there: the method is on this site for free and we would rather you used it than paid for something you did not need.

It is worth paying for when the record is complicated: a career change, a weak semester that needs placing, a gap, or an application set across countries with different conventions. That is where the argument is hard to construct and where a document earns its cost.

Is a cheap SOP writing service worth it?

It depends entirely on what produces the low price. A specialist writing one document at ₹3,500 with revisions included is different from a template filled in for ₹800, and the second is recognisable to admissions readers. Ask who writes it, how many revision rounds are included, and whether a similarity report ships with it.

Do I need to pay for an SOP at all?

No. Many applicants write their own successfully, particularly where the academic record tells a straightforward story. Paying makes sense when the argument is genuinely hard to build: a career change, a weak semester, a study gap, or several applications across countries with different conventions.
